BUSO Foundation is a registered Charity, Non-Governmental organisation which started its operations in 1987 during the resettlement oof1980-1986 civil war returnees. In its attempt to foster rehabilitation in th war ravaged areas.
BUSO Foundation is an indigenous NGO registered S5914/220/1990. The Foundation launched a mobilised campaign to address the prevailing problems and their causal factors so as to develop a flame work in which intervention strategies could be implemented. BUSO Foundation Chose to focus on programs to improve the health of communities well knowing that , in order for a nation to develop , it is always a priority to have a healthy population, which is capable of supporting production in the agro- based economy like that one of our country Uganda. This received a big welcome and seem to have been shared by the government,stakeholders and development perterners at that time.
Organisation's Approaches and Methodologies
The organisation emphasize participatory methodologies in implementing its programs as well as setting up networks with CBOs and NGOs in a bid to enhance project community advocacy undertaking and project sustainability. Under this arrangement the organization spear head building capacity of Cbs in technical and financial aspects. Other undertakings such as planning partnership projects in the areas of sustainable agriculture and enviroment, public health in form of community based health care, food security and nutrition, water and sanitation improvement women empowerment programs, HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support intervantions, provision of technical support linking up with respective support agencies and other lerevant authorities to ensure that an effective community based M&E systems are established at the project and community level
